Literature Text

There is denial at first.

A last smile, or frown, or glance,
And then he is just

Gone.

His eyes are the same shade of beautiful
And the way he rumples his golden hair never changed,
But when I go to ask him
Do you know me?
I know that I only drift further away.

He is far away, past where I can see him,
But the memory is still crisp.
What a paradox.
The deep, long existence of us
Is nowhere to be seen
Because it is etched into the folds of our lips.

Nice to meet you, he says,
And I smile as I learn his voice and his heart
That I already knew.

He will never come back to me.

But when I am alone, far, far, far gone,
I know that somewhere,
He never left.
So dA had a makeover? It looks good. Another little whatsit for nobody's bemusing.
